Indirect Bonding System

Instead of bonding the brackets directly to the teeth in the patient’s mouth, an impression of the patient’s teeth is taken. The brackets are then precisely positioned and attached to a transfer tray or jig using a special adhesive.

Once the brackets are set on the transfer tray, the tray is placed in the patient’s mouth and the brackets are simultaneously bonded to the teeth. This indirect method offers several advantages. It allows for more accurate and consistent bracket placement as the setup can be done outside of the mouth with better visualization and control. It also saves time during the actual bonding appointment in the patient’s chair.

The orthodontic indirect bonding system is often used when high precision and efficiency in bracket placement are desired, especially in complex orthodontic cases or when working with multiple brackets simultaneously.
